Block textures are the main ones to worry about it seems.Įdit: As of 1.17 with the 120 or so new textures I hit this limit around 320-330mb. So these other type of textures have a little bit of effect on this limit but I'm not sure to which extent. But then I can throw in just 7mb of environment and items textures and suddenly the error pops up. I can be just under the limit then throw in 180mb of colormap, entity, misc, models, painting, particle and ui textures and it's still fine. Since this number has some play, there must be some other variable to it that I haven't figured out yet. The limit is the exact same on my 8GB GPU and 64GB Ram System as it is on my friends 4GB GPU and 16GB ram system.įrom my experience it seems there's some sort of hard size limit programmed in for block texture total. This error seems to have nothing to do with actual memory available on your system. Textures will have a reduced level of detail" error and then everything looks poopy. I'm sure at least a few of you have run in to the dreaded " Resource Pack Fallback. Here's a few things that would of saved me some headaches if I knew them before putting together a texture pack.
